Looks like the White Sox and Adam Dunn have worked out a deal. I hope for Sox fans sake that the use him solely in the DH spot. He's perhaps the worst defensive player in the game.

Yeah they signed Dunn. I'm happy about it, it helps with our need of bigger bats. It also looks like they will not be bringing Bobby Jenks back.

Seems like a decent fit for Chicago. Dunn is uber consistent. I would have liked the Rangers to look at him, but I didn't see him fitting into the lineup.

Bobby Jenks is interesting... Im keeping an eye on him.

They are going to be taking the trophy to Troy NY next year. How many SF fan's knew that their team originally started in Troy NY the home of Uncle Sam?

Looks like Boston has all but banged up a deal for Adrian Gonzalez. So now they finally have a first baseman almost as good as Teixera ;)

Three prospects plus a player to be named later.

Well interesting day so far. Lance Berkman to the Cardinals (he sucks now, have with that Cards fans), looks like Adrian Gonzalez isn't going to beantown after all, and perhaps the most stunning news is Jayson Werth appears to have signed with the Nats!

Color me surprised

Solid punch with him and Dunn hitting back to back. Their pen has taken a hit though, gonna need to work on that. This has actually been a really good winter meeting, it's getting me excited for baseball again!

Who else is surprised the Nats of all teams are spending money? First Werth and his mega deal (good move I think) and rumors floating around they offered Lee an even bigger contract than the Yankees!

Nats gave Werth a heck of a deal IMO. They are after Lee now? Yeah I am surprised.

They sure did. I think it was a big win for them, they over payed for sure, but it shows that they are serious about spending some money and improving their club. Reminds me a little of what Dombroski did with the tigers in 05-06, signing some big free agents, building some talent in the minors, and getting out of the basement. They probably won't get Lee, but the fact that they are trying is a good sign for Nats fans.

Nothing too major yesterday or today. Pena to the Cubs (with that amazing .196 BA lol), Frenchy to the Royals, Putz to the D-Backs, Olsen, Carrera, and Diaz to the Bucs.

I hope the Sox can build the bullpen this offseason too. That's an area where they need help. The starting 5 should be great, if healthy.

Well, if we do land Lee everything will even out. Offenses will be about the same between the two teams, but Lee would give NY an advantage in the starting rotation for sure :tu

They sure did. I'm shocked as hell to be honest. Hope the Yankees have some contingency plans, cause if Andy retires we are really in trouble pitching wise.

It sounds like they are going to put it into the bullpen now. They are concerned with Greinke and his ability to handle New York so they probably won't go that direction. Now they really need Pettitte to play 1 more year.

Greinke is a problem with that anxiety disorder. During the winter meetings Cashman said he had some surprising things in the works, here's hoping it wasn't all BS.

Wood is a good sign, but Martin seems silly when we have such depth in our minor league system, and Harriston is just going to be off the bench. Not exactly impact moves lol.

Its most likely that the Phillies will deal out Blanton somewhere in the near future. They're over budget and the 8 million or so a year that moving Blanton frees up would ease the Phil's finances a bit. Also I think the deal was 5 years $120 million. Regardless of the amount, he took considerably less money to come back to Philadelphia which will make him one of the most beloved sports figures in Philadelphia history.(barring bad performance, of course)

The original report last night was $100M. This morning they said $120M. It is smart for Lee to go back to the NL. It makes him an even better pitcher facing thinner lineups. Philly has a a great team right now.

I actually like this signing. It is a minor league deal with a spring training invite. The Yankees have no downside in this pick up.
