Getting slammed with crap I ordered months ago and forgot about it.

If any of that crap happens to be 'extra' 223 ammo, I've got a buddy looking for some :D

Thanks for the info Brian. From all the research I've done the last few days, people say to bypass the low end o/u and spend the little extra on a Browning Citori. Right now I don't have the minimum $1500+ to spend on one of those. And because I'd like to use it for more than just a target gun, I'm leaning towards a Weatherby or Mossberg semiauto.

And yes, it looks like it can get expensive. Like I don't have too many hobbies already draining my pocket book. :D

Was talking to a couple of friends today that have done some sporting clays shooting. Both of them prefer an autoloader--specifically the Beretta--with screw in chokes. Although barrel length preference is sort of an individual thing, 28" or 30" seems to be the most popular choices among that crowd, at least with the semi-autos.

DSG is great.
They sent me a heads up email that they may have shipped me wrong mags.
Sure enough, two were wrong ones that don't lock in my AR10.
New ones on the way with a return shipping label.

Took my daughter shooting for the first time a few days ago. She started out on the Ruger 10/22 and also shot the S&W M&P 15-22 I got for her a few days ago. She had a blast and can't wait to go again!

Mags are popping up all over the place.
Palmetto has the C products for $12. Good mags for money.

You can have it shipped to my FFL if it makes it any easier. :D

I'm trying to figure out any way I can come up with the money for a O/U shotgun.

Only thing I'd want to do is shoot one first---small guns in large calibers ain't always pleasant.

The 40 is due out later this year. My shield is a 40 and saves me from buying multiple caliber types. I've also heard tales about there being such a shortage of 9mm and 45 ammo while the 40 seems to be easy to find.

While I can find defensive ammo all day long, bulk range ammo is tough to come across unless I buy the reloads at the range but I have had mixed results with it.

The last time I bought the ranges reloads I was firing 2 weapons one in 9mm and one in 40. The 40 had 4 failure to feeds in 100 rounds and the 9mm had one stovepipe, 2 failure to fires and one failure to feed in 50 rounds.

I seem to have feed issues whenever I use their range ammo but never have an issue with factory loads.

http://www.slickguns.com Check it often, most deals posted sell out quickly. Mags are starting to get easy to find and prices seem to be back down to ~$15, give or take a few bucks. Basic BCGs are becoming more available, but if you want one of the fancier ones it may still take awhile.

I've seen the opposite. I haven't seen FMJ 40 in awhile, 9mm and 45 seem to pop up more often.

Anyone have any experience/knowledge about the Thompson/Center line?

I have seen their interchangable, single shot stuff before, but I was watching a turkey hunting show the other night and got to thinking about picking one of these up.

Of course, I know this goes against all prevailing wisdom these days (single shot that is) :noon

TIA

if you're a good shot, one round should be enough.....have shot several different calibers, the 30-06 is very capable of taking down a northern deer and shredding one in FL

Thanks Alex. I was actually watching a turkey show and they were using the 12 ga. And I agree, other than sporting clays at the range, I seldom use more than a single shot. If I miss, the target is usually LONG gone!!!

This is the one I was looking at

I think it just looks sexy as heck.

Right now my "hunting" shotgun is an old Mossberg 1000 auto in 12 ga. But with this I could change out the barrel to a 20 for Boo.

:O. Everywhere around me is limit to 100, or big box of high quantity if they have it.

What does everyone think a good price for an m&p sport would be right now?

Anyone have a Springfield XDm Compact 3.8? I have my eye on this as my 2nd handgun in addition to my Shield rather than holding out for an XDs. No sense in having 2 guns with virtually mirror images of one another in terms of size/capacity I figure.

Oh-

And I found out a "trick" for actually being able to order 223 ammo from Cabelas and anything from Sportsmans Guide when going through the regular route will show out of stock and no ability to back order. :D

I was thinking today...can't find 9mm or .223 anywhere, but the range I go to has both in range ammo only. What's to stop me from buying time on the range, and a couple hundred rounds of each type of range ammo, firing off a few and just take the rest home with me?

How horrible is range ammo that it wouldn't suffice as backup to what I already have? I have a very small supply of defense ammo already, so the range ammo would just be extra.
