They are gorgeous smokes, but I was not a big fan of the taste. Very bland IMHO.

I gotta agree with Kevin on this one. While they are a gorgeous stick, their taste is WAY TOO mild for me. If you are a fan of the mild, creamy sticks...this one is for you. :2

I tried chasing the origin of that X you sent me, Tom. The band has an EO Brands insignia on it, that'd make it an Eddie Ortega cigar, not an Oliva. Unless Oliva made it for Eddie. Or Eddie made it for Oliva. I don't know.
I just don't make the Oliva connection at all.
Do you have any info on the origin of these?
It could be something Ortega and Espinoza did way back in 2003 or so?

Duh, well there ya go. It says right in the lid. It's an Oliva by EO Brands. :)
I have never seen it before. That's odd there's an Oliva I haven't met. :D

Looks like that Monte is getting some white mold under the cello. I had some of the Platinum series in tubes and had the same problem but the sticks tasted great after wiping the mold off. The couple I have left are being stored naked and havent had mold on them since.

Finally found an undercrown while looking for the LP9. The undrcrown was a fantastic smoke. I see a box purchase soon.

I went back to discuss the contract for the new shop with the old guy that hit me up with the bundle of throwouts, this time it was in the evening so I accepted his congac and a smoke invite. This time however he broke out this monte and gave it to me saying it was not his thing but thought that i might enjoy it. So I did.

Went to Hollywood Smoke to pick up some Viajes since they're the only real distributor that I'm willing to drive to; so got some singles to try out before buying boxes

Scott, Oliva did make an "Olivia X". It was a vary short production do to a law suit by Arturo Fuente. AF said it was an infraction on the Opus X line.

I ordered one too. She was at 6 when I ordered. I saw them on Facebook and nearly sh*t myself when I saw the $21 price tag but she said that was the local price due to tobacco tax. That's just insane that the taxes can take a $14 and change stick to $21. Glad I don't live in South Dakota but glad I got some Ferels headed my way as these are a bad @ss smoke. The two that I have had were terrific and can't wait to have a full box tucked away in my humidor.

In TX for the week so I decided to swing by a Spec's Liquor and I'm fairly impressed with their humidor and prices. I got 5% off for paying with cash, and got an additional ~12% for military. The Oliva Serie V was just under $5 I believe.

- Old Fashioned Chico: These are actually the Macanudo Ascot seconds. Box of 50 little cigars which didn't disappoint. Somewhat sharp at the start but very nutty and woody quickly after. Finish of coffee like tones. In short a very nice smoke for the short moments.

My local B&M had an Altadis event (Monte's, Uppman, R&J, etc) this weekend, so I snagged the following. It was buy 6 get 3 1844 Reserves for free, plus you got another 1844 Reserve for the long ash contest! All in all, I spent around $60 for 10 sticks. :D
