Re: What are you reading?
I just started the Foundation series, by Isaac Asimov. I already read just the original trilogy, but that was back in my high school days, 40+ years ago. I've been re-reading some of the old sci-fi classics and got a whim to read this. Pretty good so far, It's going to take a while!

Re: What are you reading?
It's a great series. I started with the Elijah Baily books (Caves of Steel, The Naked Sun, and Robots of Dawn) follwed by Robots and Empire. These are the prequels to the Foundation series.
They are all excellent books! |

Does the casting of Tom Cruise detract from the stories?
I'm not a Cruise fan. LOL! |

Re: What are you reading?
Books aren't cheap anymore. I buy most of mine at used book stores and more and more at Goodwill...for .50 a paperback and $1.99 hardcover. You can't go in and pick out the titles you want, but can find them in broader categories. I look for L'Amours I don't have or maybe Preston & Child, a new favorite.

Re: What are you reading?
I finished reading the Morningstar (zombie) Trilogy by Z.A. Recht.
I read the third book in two sittings, it wrapped stuff up real well. The guy died while he was writing the last book and it felt like I could tell when someone jumped in and punched stuff up. They did well, but missed chunks of plot/character development that obviously went missed by the editor. Anyone reading would have went "wha???" I'm still excited for December 26th when the 3rd installment of J.L. Bourne's series of Zombie books, "Day by Day Armageddon:Shattered Hourglass" comes out. I've run real thin of zombie books, there's hardly any I haven't read at this point, at least ones that are said to be worth reading. I still can't force myself to read Uncle Tom's Cabin, and I'm not ready for another Civil War book yet. I have a couple Jared Diamond books I want to finish but I'm too cheap to buy them on Kindle since I have the actual books. I just won't pick up a real book anymore, I'm ruined. I think I'll look into the Jack Reacher series you guys are talking about. :tu |
Re: What are you reading?
Finished the Burglar book last night and started "Listening Woman" an old Tony Hillerman mystery.
