Yeah I was arguing with my brother, with me saying he was garbage leading the league in SO and having a horrible OBP for a leadoff hitter. He needs to play because of his D and speed but he shouldn't be hitting leadoff till he gets his act together. When he does get on in the leadoff spot its almost a guaranteed run combining his speed with BP and Votto hitting behind him.

It was awesome to see them win today and was a great outing by Arroyo. Now its time for the Spankees.

Reds fans are pretty fickle, besides special give-aways/Opening Day/certain Saturdays/Yankees, there are usually plenty of seats to be had. Weekday games are usually less than 'full'. :tu

So another year that Bob can say, if you come to the ballpark, we'll invest more. Never ending circle.

Nice to see Arroyo win a day game. Day games are usually the ones where he stinks the joint up.

He is definitely not a good lead-off hitter. He has less than remarkable selection of pitches and can't get on base. He is a decent power hitter, but his play is so streaky (except for his strikeouts). He should be batting 8th in the lineup so the pitcher can bunt him over the one time a game he gets on base. :tu

His defense is respectable but he loves taking bad jumps and letting fly balls drop, kind of like the one that got him a 'homerun' the other day. Looked like him and Bruce out there playing a high flyball.

There are some here (Dan) who think he is a HOF'er in the making, but I think he is more like trade bait to get a real leadoff hitter back (Reyes). :2

The Reds are a small market team and all of them in this area, despite being homers, don't turn out to watch games. Heck, I know people who are 'diehard' Reds fans that have been to fewer games this season than I. I like watching sports, particularly in person, but "the Reds 'till I die" fans don't seem to want to go to the ballpark.

Nope. Way too far for me. I'll consider going to Atlanta, but that's about as far as I'll be willing to go right about now.

Tough year for the Cards this year. Surprised they're doing so well.

Yeah, I just heard on the radio this morning that Pujols had the broken arm/wrist. Hopefully we can capitalize on it.

Starscream 06-21-2011 05:45 PM

Re: Red's Fans Check in

It's the NL Central. Of course we won't capitalize on it. Larussa is too good of a manager, and we've only scored 7 runs over the last 4 games. The Cards lost seven in a row at one point this season and still were in first place afterwards.

Good to see John Fay getting on board the Cozart bandwagon. If the Enquirer beat reporters keep hounding Walt and Dusty, then maybe we'll see a change at ss. Janish and Renteria just aren't getting the job done.

Joey Votto will likely capitalize, he looks to be the starter for the All-Star game by default. :tu
