The ref's wont give them any calls..the 1:00 pm start is not fair. The Bruins always play Saturday matinee games it's not about them:r
The B's are nothing but a bunch of goons,I think they should check the stat sheet that will tell them who the Bruins are this year.
I'm sure there will be more to come today:D

The B's are magic this year. No doubt that they are worthy defenders of the Cup. Will 11 players break 20 goals like 78-79?

Canucks are clowns....hope the Bruins beat 'em but good.

At this point I think almost anyone would. That was one of the worst games I have ever seen from any team. The last goal the D man didn't really try to get the puck and as soon as he thought he was beat it looked like he said o well. Those guys should have their check ripped. They didnt earn it.

Hell yes. Hope someone else gives Sedin the stinky finger also. :r. That would be epic. Running gag in the league. Everyone trying to give him a stinky finger. :r

I got a real stink finger for Sedin, Mike. :r

Rumors flying that the Ducks will move Ryan Getzlaf and/or Bobby Ryan at the deadline. Hawks need a true 2nd line center, but Getzlaf just seems to be an attitude problem at times.

Thats a mixed bag. Could be more harm then good and likely they won't come cheap.
Would be suprised if they did Teamu has got to go soon and they would be gutting the team.

FWIW, Bob Murray said the only untouchables on the team are Selanne and Koviu.

NEW YORK -- The NHL said Friday that it won't go forward with its realignment plan and modified playoff format next season after the players' association refused to agree to the changes.

The changes were recently approved by the NHL's board of governors. The league said it will maintain its current alignment and playoff format next season.

What a chicken **** game this was,I guess the Vancouver coach knew what he was doing crying about the referees before the game even started.
Ejections of the Bruins first and second line left wingers, penalty yes ejections no freakin way.
I guess it's OK for six Vancouver players to pound on one Bruin but you can't come to help him out.
All Van goals on the PP.
For a team with all that talent they are a disgrace to the game with the stunts they pull.

Re: NHL '11 - '12 Thread

As someone who hates the Canucks, I see it differently, John.

Bruins instigated the whole mess in the 1st with the whack on Burrows as he went to the bench with his backed turned. Lucic goes to the bench, then comes off to start an altercation when Weise and a B are already throwing? Rule book is pretty clear on this one.

I like Brad Marchand....but those low bridge hits are a good way to injure someone, dirty as Hell, and if it happened to someone on my team, they would be answering the bell with me. JMHO.

Interedting decison from the NHLPA...looks like they are getting ramped up to negotiate for the CBA, Can't say that this gets things off to a very good start. Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come.

I caught most of the bruins-nucks games and say I have to agree with the admiral. Some of the games lately have been outstanding, setting up what looks to be a great second half of the season.

In the middle of my first road 3 in 3 tonight down in Austin Texas taking on the baby stars. Got a big 4-1 win over the houston aeros last night, looking to keep things rolling tonight.

Hey Tom, do you love Andrew Shaw yet? He's been playing great down with us and he's great kid. Hopefully he can keep it up with the Hawks.

Matt, both Shaw and Hayes have looked very impressive in their first games. Loved Shaw getting a goal in his first NHL game after getting roughed up in his first NHL fight. :tu

I see the NHL has already recinded the game misconduct called on Lucic. A slow motion breakdown of this play leads me to believe that the slash on Burrows wasn't near as bad as it looked originally. Regarding Lucic, I assume the league is saying he wasn't truly "on" the bench before getting into his altercation.

Watched Don Cherry between periods of the Wings - Leafs game. He basically said exactly what I did...he likes Marchand, but that hit is one of the dirtiest plays in hockey. He said he was suprised Marcharnd didn't leave the ice on a stretcher, basically calling the Casucks out for their lack of toughness.

Hayes has done well on the 4th line especially during the Philly game. Most of their shift they had sustained pressure on the OZONE.

It's been a tough season in the standing so far so it's nice to see guys performing well when they get that call.

Bruins may've lost yesterday, but to me looked like the clearly better team. Tighten up on the penalties and the score would be much different.

Hasn't played much for various reasons, him and his wife had their first baby at the beginning of the season and he has been out since the beginning of December with a lower body injury.

Hopefully he will be back soon.

We are playing at Allstate on Wednesday at 11:00am...you should come out and watch your namesake in action!

11:00 AM? Is Wednesday a holiday I didn't know about? Wish I could, but I have mandatory training for our new facility from 1300-1500, so I would only catch a period at best. Will you be making the trip again this season?

Hawks could drop to 5th in the West if they lose to the Wngs tonight. With a 9 game road trip coming in February, they need to get their act together or they will end up fighting for the 8th spot in March and April again. :hn

No worries, I think it's a school day game so there will likely be 10,000 screaming kids. In hindsight this might not be the most enjoyable experience :hn

That being said we actually make three more trips to Allstate this year. Hopefully you can make it out. Just let me know which games and Ill get some tickets :)

Bullsh!t call on Seabrook led to Wings first goal. Holmstrom should have gotten a trip, he almost got Seabrook's face crushed for him.

3 way tie in the Central between Hawks, Wings and Blues, though the Hawks have played 1 more game, so they are technically 3rd.

like I said last year the amount of interference and trips the Wings pull vs what is called is insane. At least they called it more in the Sharks series last year. I think they only got one interference call tonight.

The Wings getting those non-calls now is what kills them in the playoffs. They still play like that but the refs make those calls (most of them) in the playoffs. I'll take the win though this should be an interesting race for the division.

Here, chew on this oxygen tank for a minute while I grab my rifle.:D

For the call that lead to the Wings' first goal, I was suprised they made it. 99% of the time Homer gets crosschecked in the back/neck/head there's no whistle. True, he got away with one but, we all know the retaliation is what gets noticed 9 out of 10 times.

Omg. Friggin phone deleted.
Mike never said Homer doesn't get mugged. He does, but as even my kid knows when you stand there you are going to get sticked, tipped, and hit from behind. You want to stand there its the price. Always has been and I hope it always is. No one should get to stand there and not pay the price.

I was saying the Wings are masters of the soft pick and leaving that foot out just far enough to impede the opponent or trip him. They are a skill team, but if it was almost any other team they would get naildd so much more. I was glad the refs started nailing them in the Sharks series as it was really bad. I just don't like them getting away with it in the regular season. Not saying they are dirty or unskilled, clearly they are not. Its just irritating to watch it get pulled as much as they do and the refs let it slide.

Edit.
Tom Sharks have some road games against the wild and bjackets also and should grab 3 of the next 4. That jaws theme is getting louder.

I disagree. You should pay a price, but not the kind that is blatantly a penalty and is never called. A crosscheck is a crosscheck. Does it matter where a guy is standing when he gets crosschecked? Is it Homer's fault the D-man isn't big enough or skilled enough to move him without breaking the rules?

Should NBA centers treat the paint the same way and just undercut everyone who drives the lane? Sure it's a foul, but we decided we're just gonig to play it that way?

Maybe they should be able to high-stick, spear, punch, or kick the guy in front too.

I just don't buy it.

Mike we will agree to disagree on this. As for your NBA analogy I can't follow you. The sports are very different. I am on the side of tradition on this. Its excepted its what happens. Not sure why you added punched. Net campers get punched in the scrum and after whistles all the time. I think your being a Wings fan and having Homer who is likely one of the best ever at playing that spot is effecting your view. If the Sharks had a player like Homer I would expect it. It takes a specific kind of guy who can stand there in the face of slapshots and crosschecks punches and trips sticks to the ribs etc. I think Homer is one tough mother.

Funny my son loves pissing off the goalie and knows he's going to get knocked around but keeps going back. His goalie even hacked at him in a scrim one time. :r
