Can you imagine how many RBI's we'ld have if we didn't this season!?!?!?!?

We would set a record for team with most RBI's in a season

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

Well, looks like another inning blown.

Blueface 10-20-2009 06:53 PM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

Lead off man on three innings in a row.
Thrown out stealing on one.
Two men on no outs next inning, no one scores.
Lead off man again third inning, now Teixeira is going to strike out.

Yup, one more strike and it is over.

Blueface 10-20-2009 06:54 PM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

oh, oh
Wild pitch.
Two outs.
3-2 count.
Man on second.

I say strikeout.

Wow!
I am a visionary!!!

Easy come easy go Swish.

Blueface 10-20-2009 07:29 PM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

Well, I think they did a trade off on the two teams.
Bad call at second on Swisher so they made it up with a bad call on third with Swisher.
Umpire's way of making things even.
Blind A..holes!!!
Oh, and umpire is looking at the outfield yet can make that call?

Glad to see bats wake up and drive in runners.

Ball was in the glove before Swisher took off.

I thought the best umps were supposed to work the championship series......

Every baseball game I watch I see something I have never seen before. Correct me If I'm wrong but didn't they just give the Yankees 5 out's that inning. I like to win but hate seeing bum calls.

Then the umpire working 3rd base is an All Star:tu

Seriously, how much more clear can it be that both guys were off the bag?

Carlos? Comments?

True that.

First - I'm a Yankee fan.

But how the hell the 3rd base umpire doesn't call both runners out is beyond me. Since when can you be off the base and not be called out? Holy crap.

The appeal at third with Swisher clearly shows he left after the catch but it was extremely close. While he blew the call, as a sports official, I know how difficult those calls can be. But the missed play at third just boggles my mind.

That 3rd base umpire sucks. That is one of the easiest calls to make :bh

Posada not all there today huh? He needs to shake it off and get his head in the game. He's had some luck from others saving his arse.

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

I figure it's safe to come out now. Sorry I couldn't join the banter tonight, but some of you I'm sure can understand. Needed to go "old school" for a big win, no phone calls, no internet, hat on when NYY at the plate, hat off when Angels at the plate, NYY sweatshirt on all night, no channel surfing between innings or at any other point for that matter, etc., etc., etc.

Terrible calls tonight by Ump.'s and the worst, the two by McClelland (who BTW is the crew chief!).

Bottom line:
Overpowering pitching by CC
&
A-rod is really playing all facets of the game like a man possessed.

That is all, off to bed here.

Oh, except...

Yankees win, thhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win!!!!!!

MedicCook 10-20-2009 09:52 PM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

What a great game by the Yankees. CC was amazing tonight. Joe did not get the chance to over-manage. :r A-Rod is on a tear. 5 games to go for the Yankees.

bvilchez 10-20-2009 09:56 PM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

The team hasn't looked better in the postseason I believe.

MedicCook 10-20-2009 10:06 PM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

And the Umps have never looked worse. What a horrible job they did tonight.

Swisher was OUT on the pick off.

Swisher was SAFE as he did not leave early.

Posada & Cano were both OUT at 3B.

You are correct Perry. It sucks that the Dodgers are not playing well. They need to win 3 straight.

Finally, we drive in runners by numbers!!!
Great pitching by CC in the 7th and 8th.
Horrible umpiring.

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

Wow, CC Sabathia was a beast last night. I'm not a Yankee fan but that was great pitching. If they continue to play like this I think they're unstoppable.

Yikes, the big guns all have a few days rest now.

Wouldn't want to be a Yankee hater now. :D:D:D

I gotta give the 3rd base ump credit; he came on ESPN and admitted how bad the calls were and appologized, which took guts.

Just the same, I would need time to consider his request if he asked to sell beer in the stands from here on out.

shilala 10-21-2009 08:59 AM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

I thought the Angels were gonna pull it out. After CC shut them down in the fifth and sixth, and arod hit that shot, I was like "dayum, what a machine."
The Yanks looked incredible.
I guess that's what an eleventy billion dollar payroll can get you. :)

LOL
Least he could do was apologize.
Can't figure out for the life of me how he was able to say foot was off the bag too early when his face was dead on left field and was not looking at the runner or bag.
Man has eyes on the side of his head.:D
In the end, I think it was all to get even with the bad call at second where Swisher should have been called out.

There were loads of bad calls.
It kinda evened out. Didn't even come close to making a difference, thankfully.
Had the Angels won, they'd convene Congress cause the Yanks got hosed. :r

floydpink 10-21-2009 09:40 AM

Re: Yankees vs Angels ALCS 2009

Say what you want about the Yankees payroll, Teixeira WAS an Angel, Damon gave the Redsox a Wirld Series with a grandslam against the Yanks, for a couple more million, A-Rod was a Red Sox, and we would all be watching a different series.

It's the golden rule; whoever has the gold makes the rules.
