Pardon the break in the action. But wanted to add to picture time here. Here's the new muzzle break installed. My Picatinny rail is like 6" .

Your rifles look really sweet. If I add an upper kit, then I can add a stock. But I like it this way.

Not my rifle, not yet. just a pic from the net :)

lol, that's a mean looking gun right there. :tu

Re: First Firearm Thread.

Damn. I guess i didn't look closely the first time. The drop in DH rail doesn't look like the VRS-TD. And the shortest is 10.5". That would require me to get a new low profile gas block. Decisions, decisions.

Anyone ever buy from Glock Store? How is their service? Are they really selling factory direct Glocks?

I've bought from them (Glock Store) directly at gun shows, great service and very knowledgeable guys.

As always, Greg, get a few opinions. They are in San Diego. Maybe they have a storefront you can just cruise down there.

I placed an order in September for what appeared to be in stock item.
Two weeks later, after calling, told on backorder.
Since then, not a word.
At least they haven't charged my card yet.

Anyone have opinions on different handgrips for the AR? Do you find the stock grip works just fine or do you prefer something else?

bonjing 02-16-2013 09:25 AM

Re: First Firearm Thread.

I like the magpul miads with medium inserts for my hand. They are very adjustable to suite you needs. I don't like the standard grip due to the finger rest on them. I also tried the tango down battle grip but it felt to narrow to me.

What do you guys think about the EOTech's? Worth the extra money over the Primary Arms red dot (as an example of a cheaper RD)?

very much ends up being a personal thing. I love the feel of the hogue soft rubber. There's some various angles available. UCWRG even makes one that angled more straight up and down like an AK grip, if that suits you're style. Trial and error is your friend. For just testing out the grips, ordering a bunch from amazon and then paying a few bucks to ship back the ones you don't like may be the ticket.

I think it depends heavily on your usage of the gun. If I wanted a single SHTF will not fail me gun, then there's no doubt I'd get the EOTech. If I was a professional 3gun competitor and shot red dots, then yeah, EOTech. All other uses depend on your available resources and order of importance.

Nothing fits my hand better than a regular ol Hogue softy. I have one my my AR and I put a second on my M&P 15-22 before I even fired it.

I really don't like the milspec grip

YMMV

If you're looking for AR's specifically, check out the Equipment Exchange on AR15.com. Prices are coming down and seem for most items to be better than GB. Just be careful if you say "I'll take it". They take welching on a deal seriously.

Just looking at getting another Glock and maybe a Kimber. AR will be down the road a bit for me. I assume they do handguns on the exchange at ar15.com?

Indeed. Wife was still getting over a bad cold so once the rain came down pretty good we ended the shoot. 12ga slugs vs bowling pins was epic

I heard Kimber went through different hands, and now they are living off their reputation. Not sure if true.

Any trouble with "return fire" from the bowling pins? There was a concern. They are hard.

Nah. I was told not to shoot anything weak at them. Shot 5.56, 7.62x54r and buckshot and slugs at them. I had return fire from a mannequin though from birdshot. ****er peppered me good

I love my Ultra Carry II, never had a failure to feed or fire with it, when using factory ammo.
