Methinks not! lol paid $20 ea for the ones on backorder at cabellas :) I'm stalking the black dog site, waiting on em to reopen... think I'll pick up two drums when they do. Even if I have to ship em to a friends. This 15-22 w/ the slidefire stock is just way too much fun :tu |

In theory, you can calibrate your zero at 36yds, its the same thing as 300yds. Bearing mind that's shooting M855 out of a 20" rifle barrel.... what load you're shooting will have an effect.. Quote:

Re: First Firearm Thread.
i def wanna have some triangle and israeli bandages and some celox or quick clot gauze
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I always carry some quickclot with me when I'm in the mountains in venezuela.... help is along ways away.....
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
you got the granuals or the impregnated gauze?
This is supposed to be good for stabs, GSWs and deep laceration http://www.amazon.com/Celox-Clotting.../dp/B004NG8V1W |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I've got a nice slim vac packed gauze, starting to approach expiration... makes for easier kit packing.... but mmm, those granuals do look effective....
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I would save the granual tube for a gsw or stab wound.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
A trauma pack is a good idea. I'll have to add it to the " short list" . After running into Mike and Chainsaw Bob in the ammo thread over there I'm considering investing in more ammo again this month.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
considering my odds of getting shot or stabbed over there are disturbingly high, lol.... granual tube FTW.
mmm, more ammo.... although I tend to ascribe to the idea of "you can never have too much ammo", I nevertheless have sold off a few thousand rounds this month for a significant profit... planning on rebuying next year and gambling that the prices will be way down, since I won't be doing any more shooting this year. Quote:
That's prettymuch how I feel... the discretionary spending account for guns has plummeted, and yet... my "short list" has still managed to GROW. :bh |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Not buying ANY ammo at the prices people are asking
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I only wish pistol ammo was as insanely high priced as rifle ammo, got plenty of .45 I'd be happy to sell IF it was worth my while... but it really isn't, by the time you add in listing fees, and time lost creating and fulfilling the transaction.... you make a couple bucks, maybe...
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Aw just another $200 on rounds and I'll be done.. My muzzle is supposed to arrive today. And I still want a second Mag. Them maybe I can get back to throwing my money away on cigars. Remember a gun without ammo.... is a glorified hammer.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
.45 has been pretty hard to find at a decent price. I've been looking for some range ammo and haven't found any that's cheaper than what I pay at my range.

I like the Miami one better than the West Palm. However, even West Palm would be a challenge to explain to her. I may just "bite the bullet" (pun intended) and tell her and see what she says. Figure I will give her a reason to b*tch at me as has been a while.:r |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
50 cents a round may be expensive... and hard to find.. but the stuff was retailing for 35-40 cents a round already... not enough margin to make selling worth it :/
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
I'm gonna put my 100rds of 45ACP up for $50 on Armslist and Florida Gun Trader.
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
mmm, I always forget about armslist.... I should do that....
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Only do armslist if they're a local buyer. I heard of a lot of scams with shipping on armslist
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
yeah. just like craigslist.

Re: First Firearm Thread.
ahh yes.. *sigh*, now I remember why I hate doing business on ebay/gubroker.... all those people who never learned to read in high school apparently figured out how to register.....

Re: First Firearm Thread.
Guys, on the stock, I understand the differences between commercial and mil spec.
That said, left or right, up or down, in or out, commercial or mil spec?:D |

But then I have no real world experience yet with either type of stock. But I did order a comm Magpul CTR for my AR that's still on order. |
Re: First Firearm Thread.

I have seen 2 AR's that the commercial tubes loosen up and let the buffer detent pop out and the buffer & spring launched out jamming them up pretty good, I use NOTHING but the mil spec receiver extension. When I got my last new AR from Yankee Hill in December first thing I did was remove the commercial tube. (What do you want from a $1440 AR, HAHA?) I think the last mil spec stock/buffer receiver extension I got from Bravo was only $65 |
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Mil-spec is supposed to be stronger and better if you want to hit things with it (door/head). I have commercial setup but that's only because I got it cheap. It is easier to find mil-spec stuff though
|
Re: First Firearm Thread.
Thanks guys.
So mil spec with H buffer and Magpul of my liking. Now, to find it, buy it, get it and not die for it. I really think she is hitting the end of the line with this stuff. I can always tell as she retaliates on HSN and seems packages are starting to arrive daily for her.:r |
