Last night shared a BORIS and a Barrel Aged BORIS with a couple of buds over smokes the regular was good but we messed up by opening the Barrel Aged first. Still an awesome experience but all are in a agreement to stick with the barrel age

Which one?

Finally finished my 080808, awful stuff (but I'm not a fan of Belgians). Love the 090909.

I have not, though I will change that this weekend. Always like a little comparison. I'll post back on that later.

Only considering the Brooklyn's, it's super drinkable for me. Stout's are currently my favorite style, but I typically find them to be too filling to be close to a session beer and still find it excellent. Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout, session beer? Maybe.:sh

Heading to Total Wine today. Any recommendations? I'm not a big IPA fan. Mainly sticking to the less bitter ales. What do you think?

Had a few Harpoon IPAs last night--man, it's been a number of years since I've had one of these. Still a classic in my book. Recalled some fond memories of drinking with friends that I no longer get to see.

Stoudt's Winter Ale 2010...at least I think that's what I'm drinking. The growler station had it labeled as Stoudt's Hoppy Red. Regardless...good stuff. :tu

Suckin back a 2006 Schlafly Oak Aged Barley Wine.

Damn good... Great nose and mouthfeel, but finishes really dry and fades quickly.
It may be on it's last leg.

I recently discovered Black Angus Stout. Brewed locally in Manhattan KS at Little Apple Brewery.

Been on a kick lately to find a good dark beer and this is so far my #1.

I thought the Regular IPA was MUCH better than the double especially since they were both 8% ABV. Crap is a bit much but to each their own.

My favorite beer by far this year. I found it at the BevMo in Temecula. They had a chit load of it. Let me know if you want me to pick you up a few.:tu

Black moon IPA from Rock Art.

I'm certainly on the side of anyone who suggests that Greg Noonan created this style of beer in VT. Rock art does a good job with it, but I think Sublimely Self Righteous is my favorite at this point (there, that should satisfy the west coasties). Who else makes good Black IPA/American Dark ale/Cascadian Dark ale (whatever you want to call it)?

Tried a few new beers in Chicago last weekend.
Goose Island 312. Good, but would have been better if we could have sat outside instead of inside watching the pouring rain.
Goose Island IPA. Not too bad, thought it should have been a little hoppier actually.
Bell's Pale Ale. Good beer, would love to try again.
Leinenkugels 1888 bock. Love it. I had it when they used to call it Leinenkugel's Bock. No 1888.
Also went with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Had some on draft last week at our herf. It was like drinking raspberry juice, way to fruity. The AB rep said their target market is 18-24yo females. I can see that...
