Mets split a doubleheader with the Marlins today. Losing the first game, 3-0 (another shutout) and winning the nightcap, 3-1.

Mets beat the Marlins, 1-0, in 12 innings. Goes to show how inept our offense is...with bases load and no one out in the bottom of the 12th...we hit into two groundouts. d'Arnaud singled in the wining run with two outs.

Hey Anderson...buy some offense and get some damn pitching before next year!!!

I said this at the beginning of the year. Doing the math, we can finish no worse than 4th place. Hey, at least we weren't last. But on the flip side, the bullpen gave away at least 15 games. Had we won some of those, we could have, easily, finished in 3rd place. That would have been quite an accomplishment for the team we fielded this year. :2

Mets score 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Giants last night, 5-4. No thanks to Harang...please release this goof!!! :td :td Bullpen pitched four innings of shutdown baseball. HOLY CRAP!! Black looked good again out of the bullpen to pick up his second win.

Yankees give the Astros their 109th loss of the year last night, and moved Houston's 3-year total to 322 losses. This is good enough to insure the 'Stros of fifth-place in big league history over 3 seasons, and with 2 games left they have a chance to surpass or tie the 4th-place 1940-42 Philly Phillies (323 Ls) and the 3-rd place 1915-1917 Philly Athletics (324 Ls).

But don't worry. The top two spots are still secure, with the 1962-64 Mets top-bottom mark of 340 losses, and the 1963-65 Mets 332 Ls.

Amazin', amazin', amazin'. Congratulations. The records are safe another year . . . at least. :tu

Finish the season 74-88 and ALONE in 3rd place in the NL East...above the Phillies and Marlins (Hey Phillies...SUCK IT!!! :r :r :r) I said anything above a last place finish would be a nice season for this team. Had the bullpen not been half as bad as they were, we might have finished .500. Alderson has some work to do in the off-season. We need a 1B that can hit, outfield is very suspect, pitching staff needs work and the bullpen needs a complete overhaul. I'm banking on the Wilpons handcuffing him with the checkbook. We'll see. Here's to looking forward to the 2014 season.

After all the BS and contemplating....looks like Harvey is gonna have Tommy John surgery. So, with him out for the 2014 season...need someone to pitch that's worth a sh*t. Get to work Alderson!!

And all this talk of re-signing Johan for one year...COME ON MAN!!! The man pitched like 4 innings the past two years and you paid him an a$$load of cash. WAKE UP!!!

Ruben Tejada's agents are considering filing a grievance over the New York Mets' timing of the shortstop's September call-up, which delayed his free-agency eligibility from after the 2016 season until after the 2017 season, Yahoo! Sports has reported.

Really? He wants to become a free agent that bad? He is lazy and doesn't put in the extra work...he hit like .202 this year. His glove was supposed to be his calling card and that didn't work out too well either. Not sure many teams out there want a light hitting, lazy shortstop. I say release his sorry a$$...but who else do we have to play SS?

Hawkins signs a deal with the Rockies...sad to see him go. Even though he's old as dirt, he proved to be our best option out of the pen last year.

I really thought we were gonna go after Jhonny Peralta. Card just signed him to a 4 year, $ 52 million deal. I didn't think he'd get that much after the steroid thing. Guess we're gonna go after Drew. Just what we need...another "all glove-no bat" shortstop. But hey...anything's better than Tejadas lazy a$$.

Sounds like your Mets are using my Twins' strategy of signing arms that are were good 5 years ago, coming off injury or looking to rebound. I don't think the Twins will sign a pitcher unless he is coming off Tommy John. Heard rumors around here about us going after Santana for some reason!

Mets agreed to terms on a two-year, $20 million pact with right-hander Bartolo Colon. Not sure about this one...two more years for this past his prime pitcher? Can he stay healthy? Why give him two years? We did need help in the pitching staff...not sure this is the answer.

Yeah, I loved it when the Yankees signed him too. I then learned to like it, then accept it, then think "Ehhhh" when he left. :r

Still, he's an improvement for the Mets outfield . . . if that says much. :D

Mets sign Taylor Teagarden to a minor league contract...for what? He hit .167, 2 HRs and had 5 RBIs last year. Spent almost a month and a half on the DL...that must be the reason. :bh :bh :bh Until we get rid of this Little League management, we are not going to win.
