Left during the 2nd Qrt to go see The Hobbit in 3D with the wife. Daughter was texting me with one of the scores when the Vikes were up 20-17 at some point. Guess I missed a close one this afternoon. Vikes 37-34 over the Pack. Drops the Pack down to #3 seed in the playoffs. Vikes come to Lambeau next week?:dr

Great game. Surprisingly, I'm not really all that disappointed....for a couple/few reasons....

1. Bears are done
2. I'm far more confident about next week's game.
3. I think we need a week of game-work more than a week off
4. Bears are done :)

When has arm tackling ever been considered, "good"?

If anything our defense should be nice and fresh since they took yesterday off.

Arm tackles have never been considered good tackles. You didn't read what I said. Adrian Peterson's lateral speed and agility make it more difficult to get solid body contact. This causes what would be a good tackle on 99% of RB's into an arm tackle, not a good tackle. This is why he leads the league in yards after contact.

Re: Packer fan thoughts

I must admit, I am not all that confident, even in Lambeau, that the Packers can beat the Vikings - or anybody else. The defense is definitely not up to snuff.

A few years ago, everybody said how good the defense was. They were not. They allowed more yards running and passing than just about anybody else. They were however, great in takeaways. While that is nice, you cannot depend on takeaways to win games, they may not happen. That approach is to rely upon the weaknesses of other teams offenses.

This year we cannot stop anybody consistently, and the number of takeaways being generated isn't helping.

I don't see myself as a pessimist (although that is the label my sons have given me). I am trying to be honestly critical though, and maybe it might be a bit over-critical. But, I'd rather be surprised than disappointed.

VIKINGS @ PACKERS...:noon
Field looks in good condition from what I can see on the Lambeau Cam this morning. Currently 18* expected to warm-up to 25* around game time:rolleyes:

Looking forward to this game this evening out our way:tu

Pack looked better this week than last. We need to find a way to keep Rodgers from getting hit.

Good to see the Pack Def contain AP from getting to the outside tonight. Woodson was definately a positive asset on the field too...

The O-line could hang with the D-line a bit longer (would definately help).

I like it when you root against the Pack, Tom. You rooted for them Week 17 and look how that turned out. :)

He's so good, quarterbacks trip over him (literally) just to have the honor of saying that they were once sacked by Clay Matthews.

Either that, or they mistook him for Carmen Electra.

I think that is State Farm and Rodgers.

Matthews is in his special room with his Fathead.

Go Colin!!

What a great story Colin Kaepernick from UNR playing against his favorite team growing up.

BTW Ray Lewis is the greatest football player from the past decade! What a game from Denver! go Ravens!

Re: Packer fan thoughts

Yup lookie there, I am really not a football fan at all, but its been single digits outside all day, so we've been stuck inside watching football, and qualifying from Phoenix SX on live stream. Colin went to UNR, right down the road, and created quite a bit of excitement for northern NV. So I guess I'll root for his team. Yea, the Ravens played a great game against Denver. I hope next week is warmer, I don't know how people can sit inside and watch football all day, oh well, SX starts in a bit.

The Pack will need to contain Kaebernick to win this game...over 100 yeards rushing in the 1st half.

14holestogie 01-12-2013 08:10 PM

Re: Packer fan thoughts

The fact they are only down 3 after getting totally outplayed in the first half is encouraging. Time for McCarthy to do his usual halftime adjustments and pull this biotch out.

Yes, it is. Hopefully McCarthy can do that.

OK, first series this half wasn't good.

AP was still tired from running all over us the week prior. That's the only logical explanation.
