So far thats been the exception, not the rule. I'm not impressed so far.

Real season starts today.

The one guy with the hot draws has to be the new pitching coach after all of these homeruns.

At least Lester snapped out of it yesterday, they are just not getting any bounces to go their way.

Can't blame McDonald for the ninth, with two outs he is running like that ball went up the middle which it would of if it didn't get a piece of the pitcher. By the time he saw it in the hands of the SS it was too late.

Loved that second inning! Knock on wood, but this would be a great day to break the streak!

Lackey got a gift getting the win he stunk, if he don't get it together, he will be begging for a trade :2

yep Hughes stunk a little bit more. A great pitchers dual haha

Bunker 04-09-2011 06:23 AM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

The bats finally woke up yesterday and picked up Lackey on another mediocre performance like they are supposed to do.

Nice to see both Salty and Drew come up with clutch hits

God damn it, another crappy pitching performance!

My observation so far is Boston is to big of a stage for Crawford, and Salty don't belong in the bigs.

timo 04-09-2011 04:59 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

Crawford will be fine, I hope. Now Salty is another story. It's a long season. I'm just trying to enjoy the games

Bruins Fan 04-09-2011 05:06 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

Crawford is Jacoby Ellsbury, it's so messed up Francona don't know were to bat him in the lineup?
For my money I would rather have Ells, just my .02.

timo 04-09-2011 05:10 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

You may be right. I'm just trying to give it more time. It's very early yet. I always loved watching Crawford when he was with the Rays. He's to go an athlete to get overwhelmed in Boston

Bunker 04-09-2011 05:15 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

What's the over/under on the new pitching coach getting whacked?

These guys are throwing like it is the first two weeks in March not April. Too many balls staying up (and leaving the park).

Bruins Fan 04-09-2011 05:22 PM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

No doubt he is a great athlete but that batting stance so wide open, bring the heat up and inside and you can handcuff him. I don't know that's how I would pitch him?
He sitting on the bench with his head in his hands, I think if he has a big game it might get him going?

Pedro wants to come out of retirement and pitch for the Sox,says he will be ready in a month.
Hell yes, I would take a chance on the best pitcher in Sox history just for his attitude:banger

So nice to see Beckett pitch like the guy of old. I think V Tek should catch him on every start. Hopefully Paps can shut the door.

I have no interest in the Dominican Diva coming back to Boston after the way he lied his way out of town, just using us to drive up the Mets' offer. In addition, he was old and broken down when he left the game in 2009; any evidence that he is younger or healthier now?

Hey, Josh Beckett - you know the All Star Josh Beckett, (the one we thought was long gone), made an appearance last night vs. the Yankees. Nice!

By the way, the new ESPN crew is just as awful as last years'. Give me Don & RemDog any day.

beckett touched 96 mph finally yesterday...

i wish espn adopted using the home team announcers when it comes to ball games... would give each home team more character...

Dice K needs to get traded! I'm so sick of watching him every 5th day. Enough is enough with this guy.

Worst team in Baseball, at least we beat the yanks :banger
Yeah they will get on a roll? Five starters batting under 200.
Crawford I still don't understand that signing?
The man hit 19 Home runs once and never drove in more then 90 rbi.
The big money he got was always given the future hall of fame type sluggers.
Someone needs to be made an example of even if it is Francona he baby's these guys.
No way heads would not roll if Parcells or Belichick were running things.

Nice win, another very good pitching performance by Beckett :banger
Lowrie had a big game, it's going to be hard to keep him out of the lineup.
Crawford riding the pine were he belongs, he should give back the money and get out of town :td

I have no problem with Crawford being an overpriced #7 hitter and Elsbury batting 9th.

If either of them snaps out of it they can move up.

The only reason to start Dice-K is to hope he wins a few games and you can trade him. Maybe Seattle would take him and Ellsbury for a catcher that can hit (do they have one?)

Bruins Fan 04-17-2011 08:32 AM

Re: Red Sox Nation -Check In

I think Ellsbury will get traded? He is good value you don't need him and Crawford they are the same.
The Sox will have to discount his jerseys( Oh No ) as it is the number one seller all the pink hats love him,he's so cute :r

I agree no chance. I highly doubt Dice K would get traded either. He had no market value anymore and I think he has a no trade clause.

I think today might be his last game in a Sox uniform if he throws a stinker?
They don't have to play him, just pay him if he has any pride in himself he will ask for a trade?
Japanese players are frauds, other then Suzuki the rest have been nothing special.

I agree!!:tu

I like the Kid he has been plagued by injuries and not being able to play a whole year. If h keeps this up Scutaro can be the utility guy.

I see no reason for Scutaro to get off the pine until someone needs a day off.

Apparently Ellsbury has turned into a speedy version of Dave Kingman.

Hopefully Theo is on the phone right now trying to strike a Dice-K deal before the shine wears off.
