OK, I didn't want to see him hurt per se'...I wanted to see him hurt bad enough that the heavens would open up, a light beam would focus on him and he would pop up. Better yet, a long-haired guy in sandals, a dove on his shoulder and a "Florida training staff" shirt trots out and gives him a sip off of a special water bottle and he pops up. |

fat phil was very nice to let us take our picture w/em so i took it easy on him. plus the gators have been owning UT lately so i didn't feel the need to be hostile. also notice he has no tennessee orange on: thats cause he was fired a couple weeks before the game ps - if it would have been bobby bowden.....no mercy!!! |

the lifesize Bobby Bowden Grill? The smoke comes out of the ears. I actually have no Fulmer-related animosities. He was no problem for me as an outsider in TN, and I am not so sure he was the problem at UT. (cough) Crompton (cough) |

Seriously Davenport? I understand and appreciate the pride but what you see from Bama is not smoke and mirrors. What you see is what you get. And what y'all are gonna get when we tee it up. :ss |

I am also not really sold on Bamas offense. They are above average yes, but they aren't as dominant in the run game as they have in the past. Plus they will play a tough defense in Ole Miss. Besides UF, I would have to say SCAR has one of the fastest defenses in the SEC. If they can play opportunistic defense, and create some turnovers and pressure the QB. It will be a battle. Bamas Defense is solid for sure. but They have some depth questions, and I think your going to see South Carolina keep an uptempo very balanced attack. Garcia will be dangerous against them because of his escapeability. Also look for mismatches in size on the outside with Gurly, and Saunders. :2 |

btw these videos involving spurrier are hilarious:
Spurrier poorly acting in an UnderArmor "click-clack" commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moPBR6os8Z0 :r And some South Carolina students make a good parody of the commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wMnvAjqKLM :r |

............2008.....2009 Passing: 603......1028 Rushing: 947......937 I will agree that looks can be deceiving, but actually our rushing output is almost identical to last year at this point. It's just not as easy to do after losing Smith and Caldwell to the draft. But there might be a slight difference in passing yardage, not sure.:) McElroy is ranked third in the nation in pass efficiency after 4 games. Defensively...not much to say there. Mallet went from being ranked #1 to #30 after he faced us. Ranked #2 nationally in Total Defense. Quite honestly I'm not worried about Garcia. Heck, Spurrier might have him benched by the time our game rolls around. Either way, I look forward to the game, as I do all SEC games. You know what they say about any given Saturday. :tu |

As far as the offense go, I've heard several national sports commentators call us the most balanced offense in the country so far this year (I'm not sure I agree, but we are up there). Greg McElroy is the 3rd most efficient QB in the nation so far. He is also doing it by involving multiple people. Last year we threw to 2 or 3 people only, this year we'll have 10 people involved in the passing game each year. With the running game we have 3 top notch backs in Ingram, Upchurch and Trent Richardson. Our 4th string back, Terry Grant, was our starting back a few years ago. The Oline has performed good up to this point as well. We are 10th in the country in rushing offense and 8th in total offense. Now we've had 2 easy cupcake games (as have most teams) but we've also played a top 10 team also unlike any of the offenses ranked ahead of us. I am glad to see SC doing good this year (have a couple of friends that went there). They have a good pass rush and Spurrier will use the fact that we scheduled them for homecoming to get his players fired up. Anything CAN happen but Bama SHOULD win the game without too much trouble and I'd expect us to be 14pt or so favorites going in (I expect a bit closer game though, maybe pulling away late). You guys should be 5-1 coming in to Tuscaloosa though and I expect for you guys to be ranked by then so it should be a big game. If it wasn't for Oklahoma vs Texas being that same week it would even have a shot at ESPN Game Day. Click, Clack |
